Július 29-én szállt le a gépe, a csapattal viszont csak két hét letelte után edzhet. Az előírások betartás mellett már kapcsolatba lépett csapattársaival és várja a közös munka kezdetét. Addig is ideje nagy részét sorozatokkal, videójátékokkal és természetesen otthoni edzéssel tölti. A következő rövid interjúban leginkább az eddigi focis múltjáról kérdeztük.
Isten hozott Magyarországon! Bár még nem telt le a házi karantén, de milyen az első benyomásod az országról?
Az első benyomásomat Magyarországon keresztül utazva szereztem, ami emlékezetes számomra. Ami egyből megfogott, az a hegyes-dombos vidék. Floridában, ahonnan származom nincsenek hegyek, szóval ez is egy olyan újdonság, ami tetszik.
Az utolsó mérkőzésedet az FSU-n januárban játszottad. Gondoltad volna valaha, hogy Európában fogsz kikötni a focis karriered során?
El Pasoban, Texasban a Sun Bowlon játszottam legutóbb, ami egy érzelmekkel teli időszak volt. Az utolsó meccsem volt az egyetemi csapatommal, akikre családként tekintek és nem tudtam mi lesz a következő lépés. Annyit viszont tudtam, hogy játszani akarok az után a meccs után is, ezért is vagyok hálás az itteni játéklehetőségért.
Milyen volt játszani az FSU-n? Biztos különleges élmény a világ egyik legjobb football programjának tagja lenni.
A Florida State University-n eltöltött időm életem legjobb négy éve volt. Az ottani emlékek és kapcsolatok felbecsülhetetlen értéket jelentenek számomra. Felemelő érzés több mint 80.000 szurkoló előtt kifutni a pályára. Életem végéig Seminole vér csörgedezik az ereimben és remélem ebből valamit a Sharksnak is tudok adni idén.
Hol játszottál középiskolás korodban?
A Lake Nona High School-ban Orlando, Florida-ban. Egy floridai rekordokat döntő offense része lehettem, szóval remek élmény volt.
Milyen poszton/posztokon érzed magad legjobban?
Elsősorban belső elkapó vagyok, egyetemen is ezt játszottam, de az évek során szinte minden skill pozíciót végigjártam a támadósorban.
Mi motivál, hogy ilyen távol a családodtól és a barátaidtól folytasd a futball karriered?
A középiskolai csapatomban nem kerültem be a kezdőbe a negyedik évemig. A harmadik évemben, mikor kiderült, hogy nem jutottam be a csapatba megfogadtam, hogy Divizió-1-es egyetemen fogok játszani, egy nap pedig profiként. Ez a fogadalom, amelyet hat éve tettem magamnak az oka annak, hogy most itt vagyok és ennyire várom a szezont.

Welcome to Hungary! We know you are still in quarantine, but what was your first impression of the country?
My first impression riding through Hungary was memorable to say the least. One thing that stood out to me was the mountains. We don’t have any mountains where I’m from in Florida so seeing them definitely let’s me know I’m somewhere very new so that was very cool to me.
You played your last game at FSU this January and now you’re here. Would you have ever thought your football journey will take you to Europe?
My last game was the in El Paso, Texas in the Sun Bowl and that was a very emotional time for me. It was the last game with my family I’ve grown with at FSU and I didn’t know what the next step for me would be. I knew I wanted to play after that game, which is why I’m thankful to be here playing again.
What was playing at FSU like? It must have been special to be on one of the best football programs in the world.
Florida State University was the best 4 years of my life! The relationships and memories I have from there are priceless. There is no better feeling than running out of the tunnel to 80,000+ people doing our warchant. I’m Nole-blooded for life and I hope I can bring some of that swag and confidence to the Sharks this year!
Where did you play highschool football?
I played high school ball at Lake Nona High School in Orlando, Florida. In High School I was apart of a record breaking offense in the state of Florida so that was a great experience.
What position/positions are you most comfortable playing?
I’m primarily a slot receiver, which is what I played at FSU, but through the years I’ve been able to line up at almost every skill position there is on offense.
What is your biggest motivation to keep playing the game of football so far from your family and friends?
In High School, I didn’t make Varsity until my senior year. When I got cut my Junior year I made a promise to myself that I would play at the D-1 level and I would play professionally someday. That promise I made 6 years ago to myself is why I’m here and why I’m so excited to play here!
